$40 for an Interactive Touchsuface?

Saw this on Slashdot today.

Johnny Lee has developed a system to turn virtually any surface or display into a pen-interactive “touch” surface. The video below shows how cool this is.

Take a look at Johhny Lee’s other Wii Remote projects!

While I’m on the subject of hardware, I wouldn’t normally be remotely tempted to pay $800 or more for a computer keyboard, but these steampunk keyboards are masterpieces. And wait ’till you see the laptop.

  1. Phil says:

All I have to say is we have 2 Wii Motes here and we should try this asap.

  2. Doug says:

Yes, we just need a computer with BlueTooth capabilities; the IR pen is easy enough to construct.

  3. Paul says:

Ummmm…. kinda geeky but would be kinda cool to use the computer on the wall…”why ,yes, I do have a 85 inch monitor”

  4. Doug says:

I purchased a BlueTooth dongle for use with our new Lego NXT robotics system, so we just need to build the IR emitter pen and run the software Johnny Lee provided to give this a try.
